The Philadelphia Flyers (34-23-12, 15-11-8 Home) will continue to make their late-season push for the playoffs Tuesday night when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets (37-22-11, 17-14-4 Away) at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN+.
The Flyers have been on a roll in recent weeks, with wins in five of their last six games, including three by shootout and one in overtime; the lone loss was to Columbus at home, 2-1, in a shootout. The loss to Columbus on March 14 was the last time the Flyers played at home. As for the Blue Jackets, Columbus had a four-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 loss to the New York Islanders on Sunday in Elmont.
Columbus is currently the 3-seed in the Metropolitan Division with 85 points, and the Bruins and Islanders own the wild card spots with 86 and 85 points. With a few games left, the Columbus Blue Jackets need to get back to winning if they are going to secure a playoff spot. But if the Flyers are going to make up the deficit between them and the playoffs (80 points), every win is crucial from here on out.
