Washington Nationals vs Colorado Rockies Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Washington Nationals have struggled throughout the season. Tonight, they have a chance to pick up a series win against one of the few teams with a worse record than themselves. They will host the Colorado Rockies before beginning a series with the visiting Miami Marlins next.

In game one, the Nationals exploded for 13 total runs. They tagged starter Ryan Feltner for 7 total runs over 5.2 innings. Left fielder Daylen Lile led the way for the Nationals offense. He finished 3-5 with a double, a home run, and 5 RBIs. Both Willi Castro and Ezequiel Tovar homered in the loss for the Rockies.

In the next game, the pitchers were the featured attraction. Mason Adams held the Nationals to just 1 run on 3 hits in 4 innings in what was his 1st career start. The bullpen came in and combined to pitch 5 innings of scoreless work to help pick up the 3-1 win for the Rockies and snap a 7-game losing streak.

Tonight, both starters have had their share of rough outings over the course of the season. Tanner Gordon of the Rockies is 0-4 with a 5.75 ERA and is coming off a start against the Guardians where he allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 5.1 innings. For the Nationals, they will go with a bullpen start and have reliever Matt Waldron start things off.
