After losing 3-1 against the Phillies in the weekend series, the Nationals will have an affordable opponent in the new series against the Rockies at Nationals Park.

Only the White Sox are worse on the road than the Rockies this season, Colorado has a 17-46 record away from Coors Field. They will have a good chance to improve that record as the Nationals, at home and as favorites, barely win 50% of their games.

Gomber will be the starter for the Rockies, since he joined the team in 2021 he has never managed a season with less than 4.50 ERA, although this season has been better than that of 2023 and 2024 when he had an ERA of more than 5.00. On the road, the left-hander has at least managed to go deep in games, against the D-backs, Padres, Padres, Reds and Astros away from home he always pitched 5 innings or more.
