In an early afternoon contest on Monday in Toronto, the Colorado Rockies (0-3) will take on the Toronto Blue Jays (3-0). The Blue Jays are fresh off a sweep of the Athletics over the weekend. Jesus Sanchez was strong in the last two games for Toronto. He went 3-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Eric Lauer did a tremendous job on the mound for Toronto in their last game. He picked up the win after striking out 9 through 5.1 innings, while allowing just 2 earned runs. The Blue Jays held the Athletics to an average of just 3.6 runs in the series. Cody Pearch will get the start for Toronto in this one. The righty will be making his 1st start and seeing his 1st action in the big leagues since 2021.
Pearch will be opposed by the Rockies’ Tomoyuki Sugano, who came over from Baltimore last year. Sugano went 10-10 with a 4.64 ERA with the Orioles in his lone season in the MLB. The Rockies are hoping he can put them in a position to pick up their 1st win of the season. They are coming off a weekend filled with losses against the Miami Marlins. In those losses, the Rockies were only able to muster a total of 7 runs. If they are going to get off the schneid, they will need to get their bats going.
While it will be Pearch’s first action in quite a while on the big-league stage, he is going to be facing a lineup that has really struggled out of the gate this year.

Our Toronto Blue Jays vs Colorado Rockies Prediction
Keeping in mind it has only been 3 games, the Rockies are near the bottom of the league in both combined batting average (.200) and on-base percentage (.235). Even if Pearch is not great in this one, the Jays have some hot bats backing him up. They are currently 5th in the league in average and 3rd in on-base percentage. We like the Blue Jays to keep rolling here at home against Colorado.
