The Padres, with a record of 10-3, do not want to give up on the Dodgers and Giants, who are also making an excellent start to 2025, in their quest to win the NL West division this season.

Of the three teams, the Padres will have the most accessible series when they face the Rockies at Petco Park, where they have not lost in the first seven games of the season. However, the excellent start for all the members of the Padres' 2025 baseball team will be somewhat hampered by injuries to Tatis and Merill, who are still doubtful for the weekend series against the Rockies.

Even so, the Padres will be favored at -200 odds because their pitcher will be Pivetta, who has a strong start to the season with a 1-1 record, a 2.70 ERA, and a 1.00 WHIP.

Friday's matchup will be a duel between the Padres' pitching, which has the second-best BAA in MLB at 198, against the Rockies', which has the worst BAA in MLB at 303.
