Game 2 of the Rockies-Royals series was rained out, and it was then confirmed that a doubleheader would be played on Thursday, with the game scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. in Kansas City maintaining its original schedule.

Although changes could occur, the Royals are expected to keep Ragans pitching in the first game of the day. Before the suspension and subsequent doubleheader for Game 3 were confirmed, there were odds of around -265 for the Royals to win Thursday's game.

The Royals won the first game of the series 4-3, in a game between two of the worst offenses in MLB. That game resulted in a Game Total of UNDER, and the same has occurred in four of the last five Rockies-Royals games.

German Márquez appears to be the tentative starter for the first game of the afternoon. The Venezuelan, but actually practically the entire Rockies pitching staff, has not fared well in 2025, has an ERA of 8.27 and was beaten by the Dodgers in his last outing where he barely recorded two outs but allowed 7 earned runs in the first inning.
