The Winnipeg Jets will hope to keep their playoff push alive with a victory against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday at Canada Life Centre.
After a horrible start to the season, the Jets have it all to do, but they have given themselves a chance of making the playoffs with a strong post-Olympics stretch. Scott Arniel’s side has posted an 8-3-4 record since play resumed in late February.
Winnipeg’s good run of results includes a 3-1 home victory against the Avalanche on March 13. Connor Hellebuyck was fantastic with 28 saves, while Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor led the offense. The Jets will look to take advantage of Colorado’s fatigue and shock them again on Thursday night.
Thursday’s visit to Winnipeg marks the final stop of a four-game road trip for the Avalanche. This will be their fourth game in seven days. The team has put a lot of effort into their previous three matchups, and travel will also have affected them.
Meanwhile, the Jets are home for a second consecutive game and will seek a third straight win after another big effort from the trio of Hellebuyck, Scheifele, and Connor in Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.
