The Colorado Avalanche will look to rebound from only their 10th loss of the season on Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Benchmark International Arena.
At the weekend, the Avalanche posted their second 10-game winning streak of the season, but their run ended on Sunday with a 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers. Colorado averages 4.00 goals per game, but the Panthers did a sensational job defensively in the matchup.
There was further bad news for the Avalanche, as defenseman Devon Toews missed Sunday’s game and forward Gabriel Landeskog was injured against Florida. Both players are expected to miss time due to their injuries, leaving Colorado without two very important pieces.
Tampa Bay has also battled injuries this season and remains without key defensemen Victor Hedman and Ryan McDonagh. Yet, the team has racked up seven consecutive wins ahead of Tuesday’s action, taking over the lead in the Atlantic Division.
On Tuesday, the Lightning have a chance to record their longest winning streak of the campaign. Former MVP Nikita Kucherov has been instrumental in the recent success, posting seven goals and 10 assists. If he maintains his form, Tampa Bay will have a good shot at handing Colorado another defeat.

Our Tampa Bay Lightning vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction
The Avalanche have been superb all season and haven’t lost back-to-back games since a four-game skid in October. However, losing Toews and Landeskog is a big blow for the team, and tricky times may be ahead for Jared Bednar’s men.
The Lightning have done their best impression of the Avalanche lately, scoring at least four goals in all games during their current winning streak. Last week, the team even put five pucks past the Los Angeles Kings, who are among the NHL’s top defensive squads.
Our prediction for Colorado Avalanche vs. Tampa Bay Lightning: Lightning to win.
