The Colorado Avalanche visit the San Jose Sharks looking to keep their newfound momentum going. The Avs have won consecutive games after a three-game skid, and they seem to have the offense figured out after potting 12 goals in their past two games.
The big concern here is whether their legs will still be under them after playing Vegas the day before. Dead legs can be a real concern when playing the Sharks, because San Jose plays a style that results in a lot of scoring chances at both ends. You beat the Sharks by taking advantage of the chances they give up, not by grinding them down. San Jose has been far from good on defense, but the young Sharks definitely know how to put the puck in the net.

On the surface, this would seem straightforward, given that nobody gives up more goals than the Sharks and Colorado puts a lot of pucks on the net. However, the value on the moneyline is non-existent, given how expected to win the Avalanche are here. Given that San Jose hasn't yet won consecutive games, it's hard to trust them, even with Colorado on a back to back.
The puckline would seem the play, but the value doesn’t lie there either. At 2.05, you’re barely doing better than even money, and you have to give the side that didn’t travel or play yesterday a free goal.
