Texas Rangers vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Texas Rangers (31-32) will host the Cleveland Guardians (36-29) for game two of their series tonight. Cleveland still holds the lead in their division, while the Rangers look to get back to playing .500 ball.

Game one was a tale of two halves. In the 1st half, the Guardians were able to take a 2-0 lead off a Travis Bazzana homer in the 1st and an Austin Hedges RBI single in the 4th. However, in the 6th inning, the tides turned. Kyle Higashioka hit a solo home run, and was followed by Corey Seager launching a 2-run shot shortly after. The 3-2 lead was held, and Jacob Latz picked up his 9th save for Texas by pitching the final 2 innings.

The pitching matchup for game two does not look very tough for either lineup. Cleveland will start Tanner Bibee, who has not been able to pick up a win to this point of the season. He also has a 4.57 ERA and is coming off a stretch in which he allowed 10 runs over his last 9 innings. The Rangers will throw Jack Leiter. His 4.34 ERA is not great, but he has shown some shine over his last 5 starts. He is coming off a scoreless 5.2 innings of work against Kansas City where he picked up his 3rd win of the season.
