Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction & Picks - MLB

After a nice 4-game win streak to begin this month, the Minnesota Twins (63-50) have lost back-to-back games to the Chicago Cubs to lost their series on the road. Tonight, they begin a short 6-game homestand with a game against the Cleveland Guardians (67-47). Like the Twins, Cleveland won their 1st two games of the month, but have since dropped 5 straight games. They most recently were swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tonight, they will go with Alex Cobb (0-0, 0.00), who will be making his season debut and 1st start since joining the Guardians. For the Twins, they will turn to Louie Varland (0-4, 6.58) to stop the bleeding of their losing streak. After a few rough starts, Varland has had a couple of good starts recently. Against the Rockies, he went 5 innings and held them to just 1 hit and no runs. In his most recent start, he went 4.1 innings while allowing just 2 runs on 5 hits against Oakland. He will need to continue his solid pitching here to give the Twins are good shot at snapping this current losing streak. Cleveland currently holds a 3.5 game lead over these Twins in the race for the AL Central division.
