The Guards then won once more on Sunday, walking off Detroit with an RBI single by Schneemann.

Meanwhile, the Orioles, who entered the final month of the regular season with a good chance of contending for the wild card, have completely collapsed: they lost their first six games of the month, failed to win the series in Colorado against the Rockies, and were swept by the Red Sox at Camden Yards in a four-game series.
