The Lions will go for their third win of the young season Sunday, September 28, when they host the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field in Detroit, MI. Kickoff for this interconference matchup is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST, and the game will be broadcast on Fox.
Any concerns that arose after their Week 1 loss have disappeared with how the Lions have bounced back since then. They demolished the Chicago Bears, 52-21, beating them in just about every facet of the game. Last week, they went into Baltimore as 4.5-point underdogs and shut down the Ravens' run game while running for 224 yards and four touchdowns. Of course, it will not be easy to run the ball on the Browns' defensive front, led by Myles Garrett. Through Week 3, the Browns rank No. 1 in total defense (204.3 yards per game allowed) and first against the run (57.3 yards per game allowed). However, the Lions do have a top-ten offensive line, according to PFF. But even if the Browns' defense can step up to the plate, they can’t expect to get much help from the offensive side of the ball. With Joe Flacco at quarterback, the Browns offense is averaging 15.3 points per game (No. 30).

You almost have to feel a little sorry for the Browns defense. With a unit playing as well as they are, they should be undefeated and making the postseason. But with one of the worst offenses in the league…The question here is not whether the Lions will win this game, because they should, but whether they’ll cover. With 70% of tickets on the Browns' spread, it appears that the public is backing the Browns. While they have played well, this game will be similar to the Baltimore game in Week 2; the game was close at halftime with the Ravens up 10-3. But then Baltimore turned it on in the second half, scoring 31 points.
