The Cincinnati Reds (14-11 SU, 13-12 ATS) open a three-game series with the Texas Rangers (13-13 SU, 13-13 ATS) and seem to have the right pitcher on the mound for this game. For whatever reason, Graham Ashcraft has been much more comfortable away from Great American Ball Park than he is pitching at home. Even though he’s a ground-ball pitcher, he’s pitched his worst in short-fence Great American and at Citizens Bank Park in 2024.
In two home starts, his ERA is 8.44, giving up 10 earned runs in his two games in Cincinnati. In two road starts, he’s given up three earned runs, and two of them were solo home runs to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. In more pitcher-friendly Arlington, Ashcraft should be able to showcase more of his stronger stuff.
