St. Louis Cardinals vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Cincinnati Reds (37-43) have been struggling in recent weeks. They are just 3-8 over their last 11 games. After winning their series open over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday 11-5, they dropped the next two by a combined scored of 14-6 to lose the series. Now, they head off to St. Louis to face the Cardinals (41-38) for a 4-game set. These two teams faced each other most recently in late May with the Cardinals winning the series 2-1 in the same fashion the Pirates did over these Reds. Andrew Abbott (6-6, 3.40) is getting the start for the Reds after a good showing in his last start. Abbott held the Red Sox to 2 runs on just 4 hits in 5.2 innings of work to pick up his 6th win of the season. Miles Mikolas (6-6, 4.68) will be on the hill for the Cardinals. Mikolas was not as efficient as Abbott in his last start, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits but was lucky enough to pull off the win over the Giants. The 7 runs of support the offense provided Mikolas was what gave him the ability to pick up the win.
