New York Yankees vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Yankees' 2024 season has been a complete success, but the second half of June brought Boone's team their first crisis and an alarming losing streak. Rodón and Gil were beaten for the first time this season in consecutive outings. Gil has just allowed 7 ER vs Orioles and 5 ER vs Mets, barely being able to strike out 3 in 2 games. Cole's return was not as good as expected although he had a dominant first outing against the Blue Jays. Yankees split the series against the Blue Jays 2-2 and prevented it from being their 5th series loss in a row. This first slump that the Yankees go through is not the fault of Soto or Judge, who have continued to put up great numbers even in the losing streak. 

Reds continue with their instability and unpredictability, in the 4-game series against Cardinals they made 20 runs between games 1 and 3 and 0 runs between games 2 and 4. Gil will face the Reds for the first time in his career. He will face another struggling pitcher such as Ashcraft who returned to the rotation from Triple-A but had one start where he allowed 6 runs to the Pirates in 5.1 IP.
