San Francisco Giants vs Chicago White Sox Prediction & Picks - MLB

There was an offensive explosion for one of the teams in yesterday’s series-opening game in San Francisco. The White Sox (26-24), who rank 11th in total runs scored on the season, were able to put up 9 on the board in a 9-4 win over the San Francisco Giants (20-31).

All 9 runs by the White Sox were scored in the 4th inning. No home runs were hit, but timely doubles ensured 5 of the 9 runs. Munetaka Murakami led the offense. His double drove in 3 runs, and he scored twice while also drawing a walk. Davis Martin picked up the win for the White Sox, despite a weak showing. He allowed 4 runs in 5.2 innings in the win.

The Giants did their best to fight back after that rough 4th inning. They put up 3 runs in the 5th and tried to rally in the 6th, but they fell short. Trevor McDonald was on the hook for the loss. He exited in the 4th after allowing 7 of the 9 runs.

Today, it should be another interesting pitching matchup. The White Sox are scheduled to start Bryan Hudson for what will be a bullpen start. He is likely to go just 1-2 innings as he has worked in a reliever role all season. The Giants will counter with Adrian Houser. Houser is 2-4 on the year with a 5.25 ERA.
