After winning the series against the Rangers, the Athletics could very well have a winning record by the time the week above begins if they manage to sweep the White Sox.

They already swept the White Sox at Rate Field in perhaps the best series the A's have played in baseball this season, combining strong pitching with several home runs. In terms of home runs, the A's have yielded 35 home runs, the fifth-most in MLB. They were already achieving something similar in 2024, so it seems this young A's lineup has long-range hitting as one of its favorite traits. Rooker has 7 home runs, Butler has 4, recovering from a slow start, Langeliers has 5, and Soderstrom has 9 and leads the MLB in home runs.

Severino, the A's big acquisition, failed to put up good numbers in his first two outings, but things seem to be turning around. First, because he managed to pitch 5.2 innings against the Mets, allowing just one run and striking out six, and then completely dominating the Brewers in Milwaukee, coming just one inning shy of a complete game. Severino will be the A's pitcher on Friday night.
