The Mets concluded another successful series at Citi Field, solidifying themselves as one of the best home teams. In Queens, the Mets' opposing team almost always hits poorly. That happened to the Dodgers in Game 3, where they were dominated by Kodai Senga. The Japanese player allowed his countryman Ohtani a home run in the first inning, but Senga pitched 5.1 innings, and that was the only run he allowed. The Mets bullpen also responded again. Stanek, Kranik, and Garrett combined to take the game to the final out, and the Mets won the decisive game against the Dodgers 3-1.

Pete Alonso hit his tenth home run of the season, while Soto went 0-for-4 but drove in one run.

Now the Mets prepare to host the weak White Sox, with a 17-36 record, again at Citi Field. Meetings between the American League and National League teams are not as common, but the Mets won eight of their 10 consecutive games against the White Sox.

Major league veteran Adrian Houser will pitch for the White Sox. He last faced the Mets in 2023, allowing two home runs.
