The break was not favorable for the Chicago White Sox (27-73) as they have seen their losing streak grow to 6-games. They have lost the 1st two of the 3-game series with the Kansas City Royals (54-45). The White Sox have only managed 1 run in each of the losses to the Royals thus far. Michael Wach went 7 shutout innings in game one for the Royals and Brady Singer matched him in game two with identical numbers. Bobby Witt Jr has been red hot in these 2 games. He has gone a combined 6-7 with a double and a homerun while knocking in 3 RBIs. Today, Seth Lugo (11-4, 2.48) will try to follow up Wacha and Singer’s performances as he will be on the mound for the Royals. He will look to shake off his last start which came against Boston. He only made it through 5 innings and allowed 5 runs on 10 hits and took his 4th loss of the season. Drew Thorpe (3-1, 3.58) will go for Chicago. His 3-1 record is eye popping when you consider they have only won 27 of their 100 games to this point. He went 6 innings of strong work in his last outing which came against the Twins.
