On Thursday evening, the Chicago White Sox head into Kansas City to begin their 7-game road trip. They are just 1-4 heading into Wednesday’s meeting with Atlanta and are at the bottom of the league with a combined .181 batting average. Braden Shewmake, the young shortstop, has been the only solid batter for them thus far. He is batting .300 and hit his 1st career homer already. Michael Soroka will be on the bump and bring his 7.20 ERA with him. He struggled in his debut this season against the Tigers. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hit and walked 3 without striking out anyone. Luckily for him, the bats were hot and were leading 6-4 prior to his exit. The Royals will counter with Seth Lugo. The righty was strong in his season debut against the Twins. He went 6 innings, struck out 4 while walking just 1 and gave up 2 hits without a run. Bobby Witt has been amazing at the plate. Slugging .950 with 7 extra base hits and a .400 average, Witt leads the team in both. Maikel Garcia has had some timely hits and leads the way with 6 RBIs.
