Detroit Tigers vs Chicago White Sox Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Detroit Tigers (32-44, 20-16 Home) will go for the series sweep today when they host one of their division rivals, the Chicago White Sox (39-36, 15-24 Away), in the final game of a three-game weekend series. Gametime at Comerica Park in Detroit is scheduled for 1:40 p.m. EST with coverage provided by MLB.TV.

Chicago has been the better team of the two this season and sits a game back of the Guardians for first in the AL Central, while the Tigers are 8.5 games back. But Detroit has had the White Sox number in this series so far, winning the opener on Friday 4-3 and beating them yesterday 4-1.

Detroit is scheduled to hand the ball to Keider Montero to start the day. Montero is 3-5 in 14 starts with a 3.67 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. He has a 3-3 record at home in nine starts with a 3.73 ERA and a .225 OBA. Montero last faced the White Sox in Chicago on May 31, pitching six innings, holding the White Sox scoreless, and allowing just two hits.

Davis Martin is expected to take the mound for the White Sox. Martin is 9-3 in 14 starts with a 3.31 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP.  He has not had his best stuff on the road this season, going 4-3 in eight starts with a 5.09 ERA and a .284 OBA.
