The Boston Red Sox will try to make it five in a row and three in a row against the Chicago White Sox today when the two teams meet in Game Three of a four-game home series. The game is set to begin at 1:35 p.m. EST.
Boston needed extra innings to get the win over Chicago in Saturday’s game. They got six shutout innings from starting pitcher Garret Crochet (four hits, two walks, and seven strikeouts), and the lineup chased White Sox starter Shane Smith after 4 2/3. Smith gave up four hits, including a three-run shot to Rafael Devers, walked one, and struck out three. But Chicago was able to tie the game up by tagging Greg Weissert for three runs in the seventh. Tristan Casas’ single in the bottom of the tenth inning knocked in the go-ahead run for Boston.
Sean Burke will start the game for the White Sox today. Burke started the season with a stellar outing vs. the Angels (six innings, three hits, no runs), but has since failed to get out of the fourth inning, has given up five home runs, and 14 total runs (ERA 7.56). Boston will give the ball to Tanner Houck to start the day. Houck has struggled this season and is coming off a dreadful appearance vs. Tampa Bay that saw him pulled after giving up ten hits (two home runs) and 12 runs (11 earned) in 2 1/3 innings.

I am tempted to take a chance with this game. Both pitchers were excellent last season, so it stands to reason that they could find that form again at any time, which would have me leaning towards the UNDER. However, if I really want to roll the dice, Burke was the more impressive of the two (Chicago ML?). But it's hard to take either pitcher seriously this season, and I have to go with what I’ve seen through four starts, so I'll take the OVER.
