Donovan went 2-for-5 in the first game of the series; Raleigh, with his 14th home run of the season, is making an effort to recover from a poor season at the plate, and the Mariners struck out only seven times on Friday.
The following day, Arozarena was the man of the hour with his two home runs. He provided the bat for the dream debut of rookie Anderson, one of the most promising young rookies in all of MLB. He pitched 5.2 innings in his debut, allowing 3 earned runs and striking out 5. Even so, reliever Rucker earned the win after Seattle's epic three-run ninth inning.
