The Chicago Cubs (38-45) have been struggling through the end of June. They have lost 5 of their last 6 and have started this series with the Brewers (49-33) with a loss. Down 2-0 in the bottom of the 4th, Jackson Chourio smashed his 1st career grand slam to take a 4-2 lead which ultimately became the final score. Colin Rea, of the Brewers, pitched a solid 5.1 innings where he K'd 8 batters and walked 2 others. He picked up his 7th win of the season as the Brewers bullpen took care of things the rest of the way. The win extended the Brewers current win streak to 5 games and extended their lead in the NL Central to 6.5 games over the Cardinals. Today, Tobias Myers (5-2, 3.12), will be on the hill for Milwaukee as they look to reach a 6-game winning streak. He went 5 innings and allowed just 1 run on 5 hits against a solid Padres lineup in his last start. He will faceoff with the Cubs' Just Steele (0-3, 3.08), who has yet to find a way to pick up a win this season. Oddly enough, Steele has allowed just 6 runs over his last 39 innings of work.
