The Chicago Cubs travel to Miami tonight to begin their 3-game series with the Miami Marlins. Currently, the Cubs trail the Phillies by just a half game for the top wildcard spot in the National League. The Marlins are 3 games back of the final wildcard spot.
Chicago heads into this series having gone just 1-2 in their previous one against the Milwaukee Brewers. In that series, they combined to average 10 runs per game. Now, they will bring their high-powered offense to face Janson Junk of the Marlins to begin this series. The Cubs are 1st in the entire league in total runs scored and 6th in combined batting average. That will make things tough for Junk, who has a 4.11 ERA this season.
For the Marlins, they will face Shota Imanaga of the Cubs. He is coming off one of his worst outings of the season. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings against the Cincinnati Reds. Miami is coming off winning 2 of 3 against Kansas City in their last series. In that series, the Marlins put up a total of 20 runs. They will look to continue those high-scoring ways here against Imanaga.

We would lean toward the Cubs to be that team, as they are the much better offense on paper. Either way, these teams should be able to push the total over the number here tonight.
