The Chicago Cubs will try to keep the good times rolling today when they take on the Reds in Cincinnati at Great American Ball Park. Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 4:10 p.m. EST.

With yesterday’s win over the Reds, the Cubs have won six of their last seven, and they’ve done so with a mix of good pitching and the best lineup over the last week. They’ve been hitting .335 over the last week with 42 runs scored across five games. But the pitching staff has been doing its part as well, giving up just 18 runs (3.63 ERA). As for Cincinnati, the Reds have now lost three in a row. The pitching staff did not do a bad job in the prior two losses (both to Pittsburgh), holding the Pirates to three runs in one game and just one in the other. But with almost no help at all from the lineup, they lost two winnable games.

However, the stage is set for the Reds to pull off the upset. Andrew Abbott is scheduled to start for Cincinnati. Abbot is 3-0 in seven starts with a 1.80 ERA, but it gets better. When pitching at home, he has a .90 ERA and has gone 2-0 (four starts). But Cubs starter Colin Rea will not make it easy. Rea has a 3-0 record in seven starts with a 2.08 ERA—but it gets better. Away from home, he is 1-0 in two starts (with a save; he’s played in four games) with a 2.08 ERA.
