Once again, the two Chicago teams, the White Sox and Cubs, meet at Rate Field to kick off a new weekend series on Friday. So far, the Cubs have been dominant in the matchup between the two teams from the Windy City, so much so that the Cubs have won nine of their last ten games against the White Sox, including three at Wrigley Field in 2025, where the Cubs swept the White Sox, having started as favorites in each game with odds of -200 or lower.

However, there are some things that suggest that the July 25 game at Rate Field, even though the Cubs start as favorites at -180 odds, could be a positive one for the White Sox, as, strangely, it's the White Sox who come into this series in good form, rather than the Cubs.

The Whites won their last two series, sweeping the Pirates at PNC Park and winning a series against the Rays on Wednesday, also on the road. Rookie SS Corson Montgomery had a monster game, going 2-for-5 with a double and a home run and driving in 5 runs in an 11-9 win over the Rays.
