The two top ranked sides in the National League go head-to-head tonight, as the Atlanta Braves host the Chicago Cubs at Truist Park in the first matchup of an intriguing-looking three-game series.
The Braves come into the game in better form, having won both of their last two games by a convincing 7-2 margin. Those two successes (both versus the Dodgers) moved Atlanta to 28-13 for the campaign, enough to give them a huge nine game lead in the NL East standings.
The Cubs also have a healthy advantage in the NL Central table and they are currently five games clear of the second placed Brewers. However, Chicago will be coming into Tuesday night's contest off the back of consecutive shutout defeats against the Texas Rangers, so unless they can solve those offensive issues, they will find it extremely tough to get runs on the board against an in-form Atlanta defense.
