The Chicago Cubs and the Arizona Diamondbacks resume their season-opening series, with the latter looking to even the score at Chase Field on Friday.
After dropping both games against the LA Dodgers in Japan, the Cubs finally notched their first win of the season at the expense of the Diamondbacks, 10-6. Miguel Amaya chalked up five RBIs behind two doubles to star in the win. The Cubs’ run barrage also helped Justin Steele earn the win still despite allowing three runs in five innings.
Geraldo Perdomo accounted for two of the six runs the D-Backs scored on opening day. Zac Gallen had a disappointing season debut with four runs and four weeks over four innings. Eugenio Suarez delivered the lone homer for Arizona in the game, sending the ball 430 feet from home plate.
