The Bulls are eight games behind the Hornets, the last team to hold the play-in spot. Chicago isn't mathematically eliminated, but they have 12 regular-season games remaining; they'll need to win almost all of them and hope for a miracle if they hope to reach the playoffs. In a demonstration that they haven't given up, the Bulls defeated the Rockets 132-124 on Monday, thanks to a double-double from Giddey with 15 points and 13 assists.
The Bulls started strong, scoring 41 points in the first quarter, their best 12-minute start of the season, and taking a 20-point lead. However, that same intensity wasn't seen in the subsequent periods; the Rockets, led by Durant, chipped away at the deficit until they were down by four points in the fourth quarter. Then, Buzelis stepped up with a clutch basket, restoring the Bulls' lead, which they extended towards the end of the quarter.
Now the Bulls travel to Philadelphia, to the Xfinity Mobile Arena, to face the 76ers. It's no surprise that, as usual, the Sixers will be without their star trio of Embiid, Maxey, and George. Because of this, rookie sensation VJ Edgecombe now plays a crucial role. However, his impressive 35-point performance wasn't enough to prevent his team from being outplayed in every aspect by the Thunder. On Monday, Philadelphia fell at home to the defending champions, 103-123.

The Bulls are leaving the United Center, and the last time they played there, they won the first game of their road trip against the Suns in Arizona. Against the Rockets on Monday, seven different players scored in double figures, including Sexton with 25. It won't be an easy game for the Sixers.
