The Chicago Blackhawks visit the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday at the Enterprise Center, looking for a second consecutive victory to start building momentum after a disappointing start to the 2025-26 NHL campaign.
Chicago started the season with three straight losses but bounced back by defeating the Utah Mammoth 3-1 at home on Monday night. Ilya Mikheyev scored two goals, and goaltender Spencer Knight showed off good form with a 22-save performance.
A 1-2-1 record doesn't look good on the Blackhawks, but all of their losses have come by a one-goal difference, and early signs suggest that the team will be much more competitive this season than it has in previous years.
The Blues visited the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night and came away with a 5-2 victory. Jimmy Snuggerud was the star man as the 21-year-old rookie recorded his first career multi-goal game by scoring twice.
St. Louis began the season with a hugely disappointing 5-0 home loss to the Minnesota Wild, but Jim Montgomery's men have responded impressively to the setback. Before beating the Canucks, the Blues defeated the Calgary Flames in a road game 4-2.
The Blues now kick off a four-game homestand and will want to put on a show for their fans after getting embarrassed in their season opener by Minnesota. Last term, the team went 24-14-3 on home ice.

Our Chicago Blackhawks vs St. Louis Blues Prediction
These two teams have historically been fierce rivals, but last season was a one-sided affair, with the Blues winning all three head-to-head meetings and scoring 16 goals. The Blackhawks haven't won a road game against St. Louis since January 2023, allowing 22 goals in four consecutive losses. Early-season form suggests that Jeff Blashill's team can keep it close on Wednesday night, but it would be a major surprise if the Blackhawks picked up two points from the matchup.
Our prediction for St. Louis Blues vs. Chicago Blackhawks: Blackhawks +1.5.
