On Friday night, there's EPL action at Stamford Bridge, which is where Chelsea will continue to fight for their place in the all important top five. Having lost to Newcastle last weekend, the Blues are no longer in a secure position regarding UEFA Champions League qualification, and since one of their biggest rivals for a top-five spot has a seemingly easy home game on Friday, this is very much a game that Enzo Maresca's men need to win.
Fortunately, just like the hosts at Villa Park, Maresca's players have the luxury of facing not only a poor Man United team but a Man United team that has nothing to fight for in the league, a team that is also preparing for a huge UEFA Europa League final, which takes place five days after this fixture. Therefore, this is a gilt-edged opportunity for a side that has won two of the last two (in the league) at home to pick up an important win.

Chelsea - Manchester United: Form Analysis
After a run of 3 Premier League wins in a row and qualification for the Europa Conference League, Chelsea have just fallen off the pace. Last weekend, in a clash with Newcastle United, the London club lost 2-0. They are likely to be shaking in the race for Champions League qualification. It's the top 5 teams in the standings who will book their ticket for the next Champions League. At the moment, the Blues are in 5th place, but with the same number of points as Aston Villa (6th). The team coached by Enzo Maresca will be doing everything in their power to get back to winning ways in this fixture and keep their destiny in their own hands going into the final matchday.
Manchester United could already be looking ahead to next Wednesday's Europa League final.
All the more so as Manchester United have little to look forward to at the end of the Premier League. They haven't been in the fight for Europe at all this season in the PL. The Mancunians have not won in their last 7 matches and are only 16th in the table. Even so, the Red Devils' survival is assured. And they have a big match on their hands to save their campaign. Next Wednesday, Ruben Amorim's men face Tottenham in the Europa League final. A Europa League triumph would allow them to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League.

Chelsea & Manchester United Squad Analysis
Chelsea will have to make do with a number of absentees for this Premier League clash. Nicolas Jackson is suspended after being sent off against Newcastle United. Wesley Fofana, Mykhaïlo Mudryk, Omari Kellyman, Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu are also unavailable. Enzo Maresca will need all his key players to hit the ground running this Friday evening. Cole Palmer found the back of the net against Liverpool on May 4. He'll be looking to continue that form against another big name. Enzo Fernandez is another player to keep an eye on. He has been decisive in 4 of his last 5 games for the Blues.
A number of Manchester United's key players could be in for a breather ahead of the Europa League final.
For Manchester United, there will be several absentees. Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee are injured. In the last match, Leny Yoro went off injured against West Ham and remains doubtful. One thing is certain: Ruben Amorim will not be taking the slightest risk, just a few days away from a Europa League final. Bruno Fernandes is hoping to continue his fine form with the Red Devils. He has 19 goals and 19 assists in all competitions. Amad Diallo recently returned from injury and has been decisive in 2 of Manchester United's last 3 games.

Our Chelsea vs Manchester United Prediction
Let's be honest, Manuel Ugarte finds it very hard to stay out of trouble. This serial fouler and often rash tackler has been booked on a regular basis this season, giving referees no choice but to reach for the yellow card on far too many occasions. Given his rather eye-catching card-related stats, he looks generously priced to be booked at Stamford Bridge.
