Celta Vigo will be looking to build on last season's excellent seventh place finish, when they open the new La Liga season with a home contest against Getafe. That lofty league position was good enough to see Celta qualify for Europe for the first time in nine years. Maintaining that high standard will not be easy, but manager Claudio González has sought to bolster his squad by signing midfielder Ilaix Moriba, plus strikers Ferran Jutgla and Borja Iglesias.
Getafe finished last season just two points above the drop zone, so manager José Bordalás will be keen to avoid a relegation battle this time around. It has been a tough Summer for the Azulones, with several key players departing the club and the only new additions coming in the form of free transfers or loans.
