Manchester City had everything they needed to win their Champions League match against Monaco in the Principality on Wednesday, including an overwhelming 71% possession. But they still had to settle for a 2-2 draw, as the City conceded a penalty, which Dier converted to seal the tie for the Ligue 1 side.
Now, Guardiola's team must focus on their Premier League match, facing the always tricky visit to London's Community Stadium to face Brentford. This is the same venue where, in the last Premier League, the citizens and bees drew 2-2 in January, a game where Foden scored twice and Wissa and Norgaard scored for the home side – two players who are no longer part of the Brentford squad.
Both teams are coming off inspiring results in Matchday 6 of the Premier League.
