Brazil Women and the United States Women will meet for the second time in less than three days on Tuesday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The South Americans completed a quickfire turnaround on Saturday night to defeat the USWNT 2-1. Taina Maranhao and Bia Zaneratto scored two quick goals early in the first half to give the South Americans their fifth win over the United States in 44 meetings. They’ll certainly be feeling confident on Tuesday.
The United States, on the other hand, will be disappointed by their performance on Saturday. Sophia Wilson of Portland Thorns opened the scoring for the Americans in the second minute after some excellent work from Trinity Rodman to win back possession. However, that was probably the only positive for Emma Hayes’ side, who registered just two shots on target. They’ll be keen to put up a better performance on Saturday.
