UFC’s flyweight division scrappers Brandon Rovyal (17-7-0) and Joshua Van (14-2-0) will face off on Saturday night inside the T-Mobile Arena at UFC 317. Rovyal will be scrapping for a win in this fight and potentially earn a title shot against either Pantoja or Kai Kara-France. “Raw Dawg” will enter this fight as the #1 contender in the division, boasting the ability to overwhelm his opponents early. He has a record of one KO win and four submissions in his seven UFC victories.
Joshua Van, meanwhile, is the in-form fighter heading into this potentially decisive bout. The Burmese-American fighter has lost only once in his UFC career and is riding on a nice four-fight winning streak. He was a short-notice replacement for Rovyal’s original opponent, Manel Kape, who withdrew from this card with an injury. The 5-foot-5 fighter will be eager to show he can thrive under pressure and pull off a surprise win.

Our Brandon Royval vs Joshua Van Prediction
Rovyal is in a tight position, having given up two fights against Pantoja, who is the current champion. However, the 32-year-old put himself back in title contention with his impressive victories against Moreno and Taira. This could have earned him a surefire title eliminator matchup against Kape. He now has to face Van, who is coming off a smoking victory against Bruno da Silva. The 23-year-old is a talented striker who possesses excellent punching power and will likely look to close the distance with his opponent. However, this could be too much of a leap for him.
Our prediction for Brandon Rovyal vs Joshua Van: Brandon Rovyal to win via decision.
