New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Yankees lead the Red Sox 3-1 in the 6th inning of game 3 of their 4-game series. Sunday afternoon, they will face each other again for the final time this regular season.

The Yankees are currently 5 games back of the Rays for 1st place in the AL East, while the Red Sox are just 2 more games behind. The Yankees rode the back of starter Cam Schlittler in game one. He went 5.2 innings of shutout work and struck out 8 batters on his way to his 12th win of the season. The 1-0 loss spoiled a solid start from Patrick Sandoval of Boston. He allowed that solo run in 5.1 innings and struck out 7.

In game two, there was another shutout. This time, it was the Yankees that were on the wrong end. Jake Bennett dazzled for the Sox. He struck out 7 while walking no one in his 6 innings. He allowed just 3 hits and no runs in the win. While they led just 2-0 going into the 9th, Boston lit up Ryan Yarborough for 4 runs to extend the lead give them the 6-0 win.

Ranger Suarez will start for Boston in the finale and will be opposed by Will Warren. Suarez will look to duplicate his outing the last time he faced New York. He did not factor into the decision but pitched well in the 6-1 loss.
