The Red Sox and Dodgers will play the hottest series of the weekend in Los Angeles. It's impossible for it to be any other series, as the Red Sox have surged in the standings with their spectacular 15-game winning streak. Taking three of four games in Sacramento against the Athletics, they've won each of their last seven series. However, the Dodgers, the reigning two-time champions, once again boast the best record in MLB.

Winnings have been the norm for Boston throughout July; on Thursday, they secured another victory with a 5-4 win over the Athletics. Clutch home runs have been the hallmark of the team's winning streak. The Venezuelan duo of Abreu and Contreras combined with solo home runs in the eighth inning to turn the game around, and Chapman came through again in unhittable form to earn his 26th save of the year. Earlier in the series, Monasterio and Rafaela also hit clutch home runs.

But the Dodgers also managed to win a series they started by losing in Los Angeles. On Thursday, they beat the Mariners 6-2 with Betts hitting an RBI double and home runs from Rushing and Hernandez.
