The Kansas City Roayls (63-51) look to take game two and win the series as they defeated the Boston Red Sox (60-51) yesterday in game one. Boston put up 9 runs and used a great 4-5 day from Masataka Yoshida where he doubled twice and scored twice. James Paxton went a solid 6 innings and held the Royals to just 2 runs on 5 hits. Reliever, Angel Zerpa, was rocked for 4 runs on 5 huts and was only able to retire 1 batter. Kansas City has won 3 of 5 to start August while the Red Sox have taken 3 out of 4. Tonight, Seth Lugo (13-5, 2.57) will be on the hill for the Royals. He pitched a great 8 innings in his last start. The outing against the Tigers saw Lugo allow just 1 run on 4 hits. This was a start after he was knocked around by the Cubs and allowed 6 runs in 6.1 innings. For the Red Sox, they will have Brayan Bello (10-9, 5.13) go for them. He was decent in his last start which was 6.1 innings of work and allowed just 2 runs while striking out 7. The matchup will be interesting as both teams rank inside the top 10 in batting average and total runs scored.
