For most of the first part of the season, the Red Sox's loyal but frustrated fans went to the stadium chanting "Sell the team," but now, just as the All-Star break approaches, the team may be experiencing its best stretch of the season. They've won 9 of their last 11, and in an American League where only 5 teams have a winning record, the possibility of a wild card berth isn't entirely lost.

Pyy Tolle had one of his dominant days, more than positive news for the Red Sox; in the first game of the series against the White Sox, he allowed only two hits and struck out 8, throwing 61 and 90 pitches in the strike zone.

The Red Sox's stars appeared in Game 1 against the White Sox; Monasterio and Rafaela hit home runs in the second inning, Duran went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI single, and Wilson Contreras, who has carried much of the team's offense all year, hit his 16th double of the season, two days after hitting his 20th home run of the year. All of this has earned him a well-deserved All-Star selection.
