The battle of the Sox will take place over the weekend as the Red Sox visit the White Sox in Chicago. Our featured game is the one taking place Friday night as Cooper Criswell takes the mound for Boston while Garrett Crochet will get the nod for the White Sox. Criswell has had a strong year, going 3-2 with a 3.92 ERA after initially being optioned to the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox at the beginning of the season. Crochet, a southpaw, has seen his name in trade rumors this week as the best pitcher on the league’s worst team. Crochet is just 24 years old, with a record of 5-5 and a 3.49 ERA to go along with an impressive 93 strikeouts. The Padres like what they see from him, but he still remains arbitration-eligible for the next two seasons and therefore will be more difficult to pry from Chicago’s hands.
