The Atlanta Braves (30-14, 14-7 Home) will try to get back on track at home today against the Boston Red Sox (18-25, 10-11 Away) after dropping their series finale with the Cubs 2-0. Game 1 of their weekend series with the Red Sox gets underway today at 7:15 p.m. EST at Truist Park in Atlanta, GA.

 Atlanta had won four in a row before losing to the Cubs, taking their last two vs. the Dodgers and the Cubs. They outscored opponents 23-7 across those four games, allowing no more than two runs. Yesterday’s loss to the Cubs was just the second time this season they were shut out.

Spencer Strider is set to get the start for the Braves, his first at home. He is 1-0 in two starts with a 2.89 ERA and a WHIP of 2.89. He struggled with his control in his first start against the Rockies in Denver, giving up five walks, four hits (one homerun), and three earned runs in 3 1/3 innings. But he looked much better in his second start, going six innings against the Dodgers in LA, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out eight.

Connelly Early will start for the Red Sox. Early has gone 3-2 in eight starts with a 3.16 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He’s been at his best on the road, where he has gone 2-0 in four starts with a 2.01 ERA.
