Atlantic Division rivals Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics collide on Sunday at Wells Fargo Center. The Sixers might have lost to the Denver Nuggets 134-137 on January 31, but winning four in a row prior to that loss has certainly ignited their regular-season campaign that has been plagued by injuries. With Joel Embiid and Paul George out with injuries, the Sixers leaned on Tyrese Maxey who dropped 42 points and 9 assists in a losing effort. Guerschon Yabusele (28 points) and Kelly Oubre Jr. (27 points) did as much as they could to support Maxey. However, without Embiid, they just didn’t have a big body to slow down Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, who torch them with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists. The Celtics escaped with a 118-116 win over the New Orleans Pelicans to earn their third victory in four games. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 55 points, while Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White chipped in 16 each. The Celtics shot 50 percent from the field but they still needed clutch baskets from Brown and Tatum to come away with the win over the Pelicans.
