Game 3 of this Eastern Conference series between the second-seeded Boston Celtics and third-seeded New York Knicks will resume on Saturday as the series now shifts to New York. New York could not have hoped to be in a better situation as they once again broke the hearts of the Boston faithful on their way to a 91-90 win in Game 2 and a commanding 2-0 series lead. The Knicks put together a balanced performance with four of their five starters scoring in double figures. New York was led by Josh Hart, who scored a game-high 23 points.
As for Boston, they have some adjustments to make as they once again had a terrible shooting night and now are in a terrible situation, needing to win both games in New York, starting with Game 3 if they are to have any hope of making it out of this series. Even though Boston has lost the first two games of this series, they still are a decent-sized favorite as the series moves to New York. That being said, the Knicks have all the momentum right now and the excitement level for the home crowd is going to be at an all-time high in Game 3.
The Celtics have also had one of the worst two-game stretches for three-point shooting and clearly rely far too much on the three-point shot. Odds are that they will improve on this, but the Knicks are also proving that they can play an elite level of defense to deny the Celtics good looks from all over the court.
