The Boston Bruins look to recover from two consecutive defeats in a tough road game against the Colorado Avalanche at the Ball Arena on Saturday night.
At the start of the campaign, the Bruins quickly strung together a three-game winning streak, scoring 10 goals across matchups against the Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks, and Buffalo Sabres. However, Marco Sturm's team has since allowed 10 goals in their last two games against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vegas Golden Knights, losing 4-3 and 6-5, respectively.
While the Bruins have blown hot and cold, Colorado has been one of the in-form teams early in the season. Jared Bednar has yet to witness a regulation defeat with his team, as the Avalanche have gone 4-0-1. Nathan MacKinnon's crew failed to beat the Dallas Stars, but they have played outstanding hockey in the rest of their matchups, limiting opponents to one goal each time.
MacKinnon's line with Martin Necas and Artturi Lehkonen has already amassed 20 points and must be contained by the visitors on Saturday night if the Bruins want to return to winning ways.
