by Carlos Zabala in Bundesliga Picks
Borussia Dortmund began their 2025/2026 season in the same way they closed their 2024/2025 campaign, riding a tremendous unbeaten streak. On Saturday, they will play RB Leipzig again at Signal Iduna Park after not losing in each of their last seven matches this season.
Croatian coach Kovac Niko's team gave another example of their proficiency on Wednesday in the Champions League: Svensson, Chukwuemeka, Guirassy, and Brandt scored the goals to break through a tough Athletic Bilbao defense. With this, Dortmund scored four goals each in their two Champions League matches this season; no team has so far scored more goals in the Champions League than Dortmund.
Just as they did against Athletic Club on Wednesday, Svensson also opened the scoring for Dortmund against Mainz. The Swedish striker scored in the 27th minute of the previous Bundesliga match, which Dortmund won 2-0 at the Mew Arena.
But RB Leipzig also managed to recover from the humiliating 1-0 defeat they suffered against Bayern Munich to kick off the Bundesliga season. Without European football for the first time in a long time, RB Leipzig seems determined to fight for the Bundesliga title: they have won their last four Bundesliga matches, the last one 1-0 against Wolfsburg with a goal from Bakayoko.

Our Borussia Dortmund vs Leipzig Prediction
The betting odds for the Dortmund-Leipzig match continue to fall and shift in Dortmund's favor, especially after their excellent performance on Wednesday in the Champions League. There, in addition to his goal, the young English midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka shone in every way.
We'd have to go back to the Club World Cup match against Real Madrid to find the last time Dortmund lost, and the last defeat, but in the Bundesliga, was precisely against Leipzig as far back as March of this year. Dortmund is, therefore, perhaps one of the top five hottest teams in Europe.
Our prediction for Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig is: Borussia Dortmund to win.
