In early May, Bodø/Glimt, champions of four of the last five editions of the Norwegian Eliteserien and current table leaders for the 2025 edition, shocked the world by reaching the Europa League semi-finals last season, having the pleasure of eliminating European heavyweights such as Lazio and Greek side Olympiacos. Everything surrounding Bodø/Glimt's epic run in last season's Europa League generated a lot of interest, especially given that they are a modest club with a stadium with just over 8,000 seats.
Now, Bodø/Glimt is aiming for an even bigger challenge: a place in next season's Champions League. To achieve that, they will only have to overcome the tie against Sturm Graz, the Austrian champions. In the last Champions League, Bodø/Glimt fell short but almost managed to eliminate the experienced Red Star Belgrade, beating them 2-1 in the first leg of that tie in Norway, giving a glimpse of what would come later in the Europa League.
With two wins and one loss, Austrian champions Sturm Graz kicked off their home Bundesliga campaign, a league of which they are two-time champions.
