After trading blows in what was a high-intensity and end-to-end contest in the Spanish capital of Madrid a week ago, Bayern and Real Madrid will now meet in the German city of Munich, where the hosts will be hoping to build on their narrow first-leg advantage.
Anyone who watched last week’s game would struggle to say that Bayern didn’t deserve to be several goals to the good after an hour, but they failed to take many promising chances, before Los Blancos rallied and created several second-half chances of their own, one of which ended up in the net, leaving the tie finely balanced ahead of the second leg.
The Bayern boys continued to impress offensively at the weekend, and surely that has given them the confidence to get over the line at Allianz Arena, but as we all know, the men from Madrid have a habit of defying the odds in UEFA Champions League, and I can’t help but feel that one of the visiting players is being overlooked a little in the betting.

Bayern Munich - Real Madrid: Form Analysis
Bayern’s fabulous winning run continued at the weekend, with Vincent Kompany’s men battering St. Pauli by five goals to zero. Sure, that result doesn’t tell us anything that we didn’t already know, but if nothing else, it will have boosted the confidence of a team that was already thriving. The hosts have now won five on the bounce, while they’ve only failed to win one of their last 15 in all competitions.

When Los Blancos came unstuck on home soil a week ago, they’d lost two on the spin, losing to Mallorca in LaLiga, before Vincent Kompany’s men did them over in this competition. At the weekend, they avoided a third straight defeat, but the men from the Spanish capital did make it three games without a win, tying with Girona in rather displeasing style. Will that below-par effort give them the confidence to be at their best in Munich?

Bayern Munich & Real Madrid Squad Analysis
The hosts have no major injury concerns ahead of this game, which means that Vincent Kompany should be free to select his preferred starting XI. There is only one notable absentee as that is youngster Lennart Karl, who recently picked up a muscle injury, though he was unlikely to start this game. Kompany had the luxury of resting Harry Kane at the weekend, but Bayern’s primary number nine should return here.

The visitors continue to be without the services of both Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo, though they have no other injury concerns. Somewhat disappointingly, key midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is suspended after his rather needless yellow card a week ago, leaving the visitors potentially light in the center of the field.

Our Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid Prediction
This will not be easy for the visitors, so much so that I'm happy to say that they'll likely lose this game, or rather, they will if they don't tighten up significantly at the back. However, that's not realy relevant in this sense. At odds of +275, Vinicius Junior looks generously priced to score. As much as the hosts should do lots of damage here, they too aren't overly secure at the back, and it's not as if the Brazilian didn't come close last week.
Moreover, the 25-year-old has scored two goals in his last two UCL appearances, while he continues to look hungry for more, shooting no less than 12 times in his last two appearances in all competitions.
Our Bayern vs Real Madrid Pick: Vinicius Junior to Score.
