It’s the return of top-division league football this weekend, and in the German Bundesliga on Saturday, six fixtures all kick off at the same time, one being Leverkusen hosting Wolfsburg at BayArena. The home side to win by 2+ goals looks like a great bet at the early odds. 

I’m sure Leverkusen were grateful for the break in domestic football, as prior to the international break they weren’t in the most attractive form - although only one was a defeat, they hadn’t won a game in their last five, in all competitions. 

Solely looking at their home performances, their recent form isn’t convincing at all for this pick, with all of their last four ending in ties. However, two of these were in the UCL, whilst last time out they faced league-giants Bayern, so we shouldn’t focus just on this. 

Luckily, they have been blessed with a returning fixture against a team battling relegation, a team with one of the worst recent forms in the table. Wolfsburg have gone ten games without tasting victory, and when facing tough opponents, they have been very subpar defensively.
